The Stihl MS 461 chain saw features high torque over a broad RPM range to deliver professional performance. With the same power and weight as the MS 460, it offers up to 20 percent less fuel consumption, meaning reduced time spent re-fueling and less money on fuel. The heavy duty HD-2 filter element provides longer run times between air filter maintenance. Other features include decompression valve vents compression in the cylinder for easier starting; ElastoStart, with built-in shock absorber to reduce effort when pulling the starter cord; an adjustable automatic bar and chain oiler to adjust the lubricant of the guide bar and saw chain; the Stihl IntelliCarb compensating carburetor to automatically adjust the air/fuel ratio when the air filter becomes restricted or partially clogged, maintaining correct RPM; and a side access chain tensioner, which makes it more convenient to adjust the chain saw with a bar wrench.
