Denver-based Swingle Lawn, Tree & Landscape Care promoted Bernie Smith to landscape care consultant. Smith’s area of responsibility includes central east side of the Denver metro area as well as the following communities: Brighton, Commerce City, Aurora, Lowry, Stapleton, Watkins, Bennett and Strasburg.

“Bernie’s goal has always been to transition from operations into sales,” said Eric Gunderson, Swingle director of sales and marketing. “He’s worked extremely hard to achieve this position and we look forward to the years of experience he brings to the team.”

Smith joined Swingle in its pruning department in 1994. He then moved to Denver Tree Care where he performed in dual roles as the trim department manager and sales until 2002, when he rejoined Swingle as an enhancement services supervisor. Smith then progressed to the irrigation manager, manager of the Fort Collins, Colo., branch, and enhancement services assistant manager. Since 2010, Smith has led Swingle’s routing department as the routing supervisor.
