TaskEasy raises $7 million in funding

TaskEasy closed a $7 million Series A funding.

The technology startup, headquartered in Salt Lake City, offers online ordering and delivery of exterior home services, including lawn mowing, snow clearing and holiday lighting installation. It also manages all scheduling, invoicing and other administrative tasks for service providers.

“Customers continually tell us how amazed they are at how easy our technology makes ordering lawn mowing or snow removal with just a few clicks on their computer or smart phone,” TaskEasy CEO Ken Davis said. “Even though we’ve grown more than 300 percent over the last 18 months, this funding will help us not only increase the quality and variety of services, but it will also allow us to broaden the suite of tools we’re providing to our service providers.”

The majority of funding came from Grotech Ventures, Access Venture Partners and Kickstart Seed Fund, an existing investor. In addition, Michael Beaudoin, former ServiceMagic co-CEO and founder, was an investor and joined TaskEasy’s board of directors.

“TaskEasy’s unique technology, which allows consumers to quickly and easily buy high-quality services for a fair price with complete confidence the work will be performed, is a winning business model worth investing in,” said Gavin Christiansen, managing director for Kickstart Seed Fund. “Their track record clearly demonstrates this.”

Since its founding in April 2013, TaskEasy has grown to 49 employees, servicing 1,630 U.S. cities with a network of more than 5,000 contractors.
