Tennessee’s Pure Green acquires competitor

March 2, 2016 -  By

Pure Green acquired its competitor, Turf Team. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This is a primary business for me, and it was a secondary business for them,” said Nathan Brandon, founder and owner of Pure Green. “There was an operational benefit for me. In some neighborhoods, I went from having five houses to 10 or 15 houses. With that much overlap, it really made sense.”

Based in Franklin, Tenn., Pure Green offers lawn care; aeration and seeding; tree and shrub care; flea, tick and mosquito suppression; and sports turf care. Near Nashville, the company serves much of mid-Tennessee.

Pure Green’s revenue was about $825,000 in 2015, and Turf Team’s was about $450,000. Brandon projected a 2016 revenue of about $1.4 million.

The company now has six year-round employees, and it’ll only swell to eight employees for a month or two per year, Brandon said.
