Terracare acquires Dallas-based VMC

|

Terracare Associates, headquartered in Littleton, Colo., acquired VMC Landscape Services of Dallas. Terms weren’t disclosed.

VMC has operated in the Greater Dallas area for more than 35 years and is led by Bruce Verdick, who will remain in the organization post-closing, in addition to VMC’s existing management team.

Owned by Progress Equity Partners, Terracare manages nearly 1,000 commercial and public projects in Colorado, California, Utah and Texas. It secured the No. 38 spot on the 2014 LM150 list, with nearly $29 million in annual revenue.

Terracare President Dean Murphy said VMC’s similar customer base—including municipalities, corporations, retail, homeowners associations, institutions and special districts—and company culture make it a fine fit for Terracare.

“People are our most valuable asset, and we will take advantage of working together, integrating our cultures and sharing best practices as we go forward,” Murphy said “We are excited about expanding into a new market and partnering with the terrific people at VMC while doing so.”
