Horticulture and landscape students who attended the 38th annual Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Student Career Days in Fort Collins, Colo., in March, learned more about environmentally friendly business practices from a workshop sponsored by the Toro Co.

The environmental sustainability workshop presented by Toro’s chief agronomist, Van Cline, Ph.D., focused on the need for efficient use of resources and technology solutions that allow landscape professionals to promote environmental sustainability.

“The students at PLANET Student Career Days represent the future of the Green Industry,” said Chris Hannan, marketing manager for Toro. “This is an important event that helps shape tomorrow’s landscape professionals, and we were honored to support it. The workshop was a great opportunity to reach out and get students thinking about how their future businesses can be more environmentally friendly.”
