TruGreen launches mosquito control program
TruGreen is expanding its service offerings with the launch of TruGreen Mosquito Defense to help homeowners combat mosquitoes.
According to a recent online survey conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of TruGreen, among over 2,000 U.S. adults, 85 percent of Americans say mosquitoes limit their or their family’s outdoor activities during the months they’re most active. The same survey also found that nearly two-thirds of Americans—64 percent—are concerned about protecting themselves and their family from Zika or other mosquito-borne illnesses. Additionally, 65 percent of Americans use bug spray on themselves/their family to combat mosquitoes outdoors at home. Though it’s the top response for preventive measures, still only half—51 percent—say it’s most effective at preventing mosquitoes from biting outdoors at home.
TruGreen Mosquito Defense targets pests where they live, and the company’s professionally trained specialists use a mosquito control formula to treat all areas of the yard where mosquitoes hide, including trees, shrubs, mulched areas and all types of ground cover. The monthly program is backed up with TruGreen’s Mosquito Free Guarantee, which states TruGreen will perform a free reservice any time a customer sees biting mosquitoes in their yard between treatments.
“At TruGreen, we are always looking for ways to enhance our services and provide even greater value to customers,” said John Bell, board certified entomologist and TruGreen regional technical manager. “Most people protect against mosquitoes by using a repellent or citronella candles, but these methods do not target the places mosquitoes hide including low hanging limbs, ornamental foliage, potted plants and ground cover. TruGreen Mosquito Defense targets these places, eradicating the mosquito population in homeowner’s yards and allowing people to spend more time living life outside.”
