Ventrac boom mowerVentrac unveiled the Ventrac Boom Mower, for use on the company’s 4500 front-power takeoff tractor.

“We are excited to introduce the industry’s first front-mounted boom with an autoleveling head feature,” said Ryan Steiner, director of engineering for Ventrac. “This boom is unquestionably the easiest and most productive boom mower in its class.”

Contractors can use the mower to mow steep ditches, reach under fences and guardrails, cut vegetation around ponds, lakes and streams and trim hedges, shrubs and tree branches along trails, pathways or roads.

The boom mower features an articulating frame and is connected to the front of the tractor, increasing visibility, safety and productivity, according to the company.

It’s easily foldable for compact storage, attaches or detaches easily for a quick installation and can operate on turf without damaging the surface. It also provides a 9-foot-plus reach.

The double-action, 3-foot, sickle bar cutting head can also be operated in a vertical position.
