Aaron Hobbs, who has served as president of Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment (RISE) for the last 10 years, announced his resignation.

Hobbs served as president of the organization since 2010 and during that time, created a strategic plan that guided the organization’s tactical investments for the past five years.

“Aaron helped lead the RISE team’s development of DebugtheMyth’s campaign, the ANDnotOR campaign and helped sharpen the issues management focuses for specialty pesticides and fertilizer. We appreciate Aaron’s contributions to the industry (and) wish him the best,” said Chris Novak, president and CEO of RISE parent organization CropLife America and Darren Horst, chairman of the RISE governing board and Central Garden & Pet, in a letter to members.

The RISE governing board has named a transition committee that will be working with CropLife America to evaluate ways to enhance the service provided to RISE members and the specialty pesticide and fertilizer industry,” the note continued. “As public challenges to our industry’s ability to do business continue to grow, our need to work more closely, and more effectively, has never been greater.”

“After 10 great years, it is the right time to take on a new opportunity. It has been a pleasure and honor to work with, and for you, this past decade, ” said Hobbs in a letter to members. “We’ve grown our industry, faced many challenges and enjoyed many successes. You have a great team to carry you into the future beginning with your peers serving on the governing board and strategic oversight council and the staff team in Washington. I’m proud of our time together and wish you all success in the future.”
