GM releases new models for commercial vehicle market

March 2, 2016 -  By

GM Fleet unveiled two new medium-duty entries for the commercial vehicle segment: Low Cab Forward and Conventional Cab trucks.

The 2016 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward Medium-Duty Trucks lineup includes the Chevrolet 3500, 3500HD, 4500, 4500HD, 4500XD, 5500HD and 5500XD.

The 2016 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van is available in regular and extended wheelbase lengths, heavy-duty 2500 Series and 3500 Series models. The Chevrolet Passenger van versions offers seating options of 12 and 15 passengers and additional equipment, including swing-out passenger-side doors and fixed full-body window package glass.

New for 2016, the Cutaway Van features OnStar 4G LTE connectivity and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado returns with new features such as Chevrolet’s MyLink phone integration system, a built-in available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, lane departure warning and forward collision alert. Additionally, the Chevrolet Colorado Box Delete package is available on Colorado Work Truck 2WD extended cab models and is offered with the 305-hp 3.6L V-6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission. A $300 credit is applied to the Colorado’s suggested retail price when this option is selected.

The new light-duty 1500 Chevrolet Silverado Box Delete configuration eliminates the box, rear bumper and spare tire assembly, and includes high-rate rear springs and a front stabilizer bar from the Max Trailering Package for better performance when operating near the truck’s maximum gross vehicle weight rating.

Regular, double cab and crew models are available throughout the Chevrolet Silverado lineup and are the first full-size pickups to offer built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity, the company said.

And coming this spring is CommercialLink, a small business telematics solution offered exclusively to General Motors Fleet small business customers.
