|

One Rock Capital Partners, a New York-based investment firm, formed Monarch Landscape Holdings to pursue a regional consolidation of landscape services companies in the Western U.S.

OneRockCapital copySignature Landscape Services, based in Redmond, Wash., was the first company to join Monarch.

Monarch, in partnership with Monarch CEO Brian Helgoe and Signature General Manager William Bailey, acquired Signature’s assets on May 1. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Helgoe is a ValleyCrest and McKinsey & Co. alum with more than 20 years of landscape industry experience. Until last year he served as vice president of the Mountain and Northeast regions for ValleyCrest Landscape Maintenance.

“The Signature team saw our vision of building the premiere West Coast landscape services company, and we are excited to work with them to focus on better serving our customers and creating opportunities for our employees through growth.”

The company is actively seeking acquisition opportunities in Washington, Oregon and California.

“Monarch represents an opportunity for One Rock to invest in a highly fragmented industry with attractive dynamics and growth opportunities,” One Rock Managing Partner Tony Lee said.
