NHLA turns GIE+Expo into family affair

The National Hispanic Landscape Alliance (NHLA) is offering a spouse and family tour package for the Green Industry Conference, GIE+Expo as well as a series of educational courses and events for current and prospective members.

Spouse program

The two-day tour program will take place Oct. 24-25, at a cost of $200 per person, and includes visits to the Jim Beam Distillery, Bourbon Barrel Cooperage and the Slugger Museum. Additionally, participants will have the chance to stop at the University of Louisville on Friday afternoon for an information session on how to most successfully navigate the admission and scholarship application processes.  High school students may register and participate in the program with an adult to accompany them.  Participation must be booked in advanced and reservations can be made online at http://www.masverde.us/spouse/.

Educational programs

NHLA also will expand on last year’s educational program, offering five courses in English and Spanish and an NHLA orientation session for GIE+EXPO attendees Oct. 24 and 25. The courses will feature successful company owners and other speakers with senior management expertise in field operations, human resources, sales and customer relations and other disciplines. Margaritas, Mojitos y Más mixer

The NHLA will host its annual Margaritas, Mojitos y Más mixer at 6:00 p.m. Oct. 24 in the Louisville Marriott Downtown’s Bluegrass Room. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about NHLA membership and the work the organization does while sipping on a selection of signature drinks. The reception is free and open to all GIC and GIE+EXPO attendees and NHLA member guests.
