People on the Move: Promotions/appointments from PBI-Gordon; Profile Products; Aspire; Doosan Bobcat; and Weathermatic

Shawn Fopma has joined PBI-Gordon Corp. as a sales representative.

Based in Bondurant, Iowa, Fopma is responsible for PBI-Gordon product sales to golf course and turfgrass management customers in Iowa and Nebraska.

Fopma was most recently the assistant director of the Iowa Turfgrass Institute. While there, he managed day-to-day operations and implementation of the nonprofit association’s strategic plans, membership programs and education programs. Prior to that, he was the assistant golf course superintendent of the Wakonda Club in Des Moines, Iowa.

Fopma holds a Bachelor of Science in horticulture from Iowa State University. During his academic career, he was an intern at Hazeltine National Golf Club while preparations were made for the 91st PGA Championship in 2009.

Profile Products announced the appointment of James Gordon as Southeast Asia market development/sales manager. Gordon will develop new opportunities for golf courses, landscape and large construction projects in Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand.

Gordon has more than 18 years of experience in the golf and landscape markets. Originally from Australia, he has held several positions working at clubs such as 99 East, Els Club Datai Bay, Troon Golf, Empire Golf and Country Club in Brunei and Forest City Golf Resort in Johor, Malaysia. Gordon has worked with many golf course architects including Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Ross Watson and Ernie Els. Gordon will be based in Johor, Malaysia.

The Aspire Software Co. welcomed nine new team members in the second quarter. These new staff members cover areas that includes product and software development, technical support, human resources and sales.

Doosan Bobcat appointed regional presidents and a new global organization and leadership structure. In this organizational structure, the newly created global groups — engineering, procurement and strategy — will work across all regions to fully integrate and leverage the power and scale of the company.

Mike Ballweber has been appointed president, Doosan Bobcat North America. Ballweber previously served as senior vice president, commercial business, Doosan Bobcat North America. Ballweber will be based out of Doosan Bobcat’s North American headquarters in West Fargo, N.D.

Gustavo Otero has been appointed president, Doosan Bobcat Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Gustavo previously served as vice president of compact and telehandlers, Doosan Bobcat EMEA. Otero will be based out of Doosan Bobcat’s Czech Republic office in Dobris.

Troy Kraft has been named senior vice president, global engineering, Doosan Bobcat. Kraft has been leading the engineering function for nearly 12 years at Doosan Bobcat. Kraft will be based out of Doosan Bobcat’s North American Acceleration Center in Bismarck, N.D.

Alvaro Pacini has been named senior vice president, global procurement, Doosan Bobcat. Alvaro previously served as EMEA region president. Otero will be based out of Doosan Bobcat’s Czech Republic office in Dobris.

Youngmin Kwon, as senior vice president, global strategy and operational excellence, total quality management, will also be a member of the global leadership team. Youngmin will be based out of Doosan Bobcat’s office in Seoul, South Korea.

Weathermatic, a technology-powered irrigation manufacturer based in Garland, Texas, has added Todd Grant as its new vice president of operations.

Grant returns to Weathermatic after 10 years of quality, engineering, purchasing and production operations management in North Carolina. Grant previously worked with Weathermatic as director of quality and director of operations. Grant will oversee all manufacturing and supply chain operations both domestically and abroad.

“Todd has the leadership experience and a proven track record in implementing scalable manufacturing processes with new technologies. This is exactly what we need as we take our manufacturing to the next level,” said Darryl Halbert, CFO and COO. “Our SmartLink network of cloud-based irrigation controllers is leading the industry. Every month more and more of the top landscape maintenance contractors are partnering with us to achieve systematic, portfoliowide upgrades.”
