Plano, Texas-based Thompson Landscape acquired Budget Lawn Care, also located in Plano. The deal, for which terms were not disclosed, was completed at the end of September.

Budget Lawn Care continues to operate under its existing name and retain its two full-time employees.

Chad Romines, manager at Thompson Landscape, said the merger should allow the company to optimize routing, given Budget Lawn Care’s service areas are concentrated around Thompson Landscape’s existing accounts.

A full-service, solely residential landscaping firm, Thompson Landscape has been in the Plano market since 1988. It comprises five full-time employees and staffs up to 40 people in its busy season, partaking in the H-2B program.

“We truly love the lawn care industry, and we love making customers happy,” Romines said. “Anytime we have the chance to have a larger customer base and be able to focus on people on a budget is a good thing.”
