Companies in the News: Kioti Tractor opens new facility; K&D Landscaping takes home top awards; Vectorworks snags social media award

Kioti Tractor opened an approximately 600,000-square-foot office and distribution center in Mississauga, Ontario.

The center will reduce shipping and delivery times for Kioti’s Canadian dealers and increase support for end users, the company reports. The local presence in the Canadian market will expand Kioti’s North American distribution network by strategically placing assembled inventory and parts supplies in a key market, ready for expedited delivery to dealers.

“At Kioti, we are committed to delivering outstanding service to our growing network of dealers,” said Peter Dong-Kyun Kim, president and CEO of Deadong-USA, Kioti Tractor Division. “This expansion illustrates that commitment and will allow us to provide unmatched availability and delivery of products to our Canadian dealer partners and customers.”

The expansion follows a $13-million, 162,000-square-foot warehouse expansion and nearly 15,000-square-foot office addition to Kioti’s North American headquarters in Wendell, N.C.

K&D Landscaping left the annual California Landscape Contractors Association Convention with top honors. The company entered projects for three categories — large commercial installation, small commercial installation and unlimited commercial maintenance — and won first place in each.

In order to be eligible to participate, K&D first had to enter and win the local chapter competition which was held in Santa Cruz.

Vectorworks has been honored by the inaugural Land8 Social Media Awards for Landscape Architecture. Hosted by Land8: Landscape Architects Network, Vectorworks was named a top 10 social media account for allied organizations. Additionally, Landscape Architecture Firms and Individual Landscape Architects had 10 winners per category.

“It’s a priority for our company to share quality content across social media and our blog, and we regularly post user-generated content from professional and student designers around the world, including their projects, accomplishments and successful workflows,” said Jeremy Powell, vice president of marketing at Vectorworks. “We appreciate Land8’s recognition of this practice, as we seek to inspire and support landscape architects.”
