H-2B Employer Fly-In set for 3/14

|

A coalition of H-2B advocates has slated the H-2B Employer Capitol Hill Fly-In for March 14. The goal is to discuss the hardships the H-2B guest-worker visa program faces with members of Congress.

“Right now, H-2B is under attack from all sides and employers are being treated unfairly,” said Patrick Wilson, government relations/account manager with PES, a Frisco, Texas-based recruiting agency. “Many businesses are in danger of being negatively affected in 2017 because they will not be receiving their workers, and there is no reason that legal employers should be hurt when illegal employers are never held accountable.”

Organizers, including executives from PES, Amigos Labor Solutions and Action Visa Assistance, recommend attendees arrive March 13, the night before the Fly-In. The event starts at 7:30 a.m. on March 14 in room H-137 of the Capitol Building. After a briefing, attendees will break into groups to attend meetings, which Wilson is scheduling, with their officials.

Employers and parties interested in participating may RSVP by emailing Wilson at pwilson@pesusa.com.

“As it stands right now, we have many clients that are at risk of being ‘caught in the cap,'” Wilson said. “Even if you are not at risk, this Fly-In will be the most influential way to get your point across and will be the only hope of receiving your workers for 2017. We need to end this annual struggle and find cap relief, once and for all.”
