Husqvarna announced it is recalling its Automower 435X and 535 all-wheel-drive robotic lawnmowers due to issues with the lawnmower’s lithium-ion battery, which can overheat posing a risk of fire.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission urges those who have an Automower 435x or an Automower 535 to, “immediately stop using the recalled lawnmowers and download the free software update that Husqvarna Professional Products is pushing to the recalled units. Consumers with units having more than 1,200 charging cycles will also receive a free replacement battery. Husqvarna Professional Products is contacting all known purchasers directly.”

Husqvarna has received five reports of batteries overheating, with two of said reports resulting in fires. Zero injuries have been reported to the company as a result of the fires.

Those who purchased an Automower 435x or a 535 can call Husqvarna at 877-257-6921 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST Monday through Friday.
