NHLA to offer pesticide applicators license prep and test in Spanish at Green and Growin´

nhla_3d_logo-300x133The National Hispanic Landscape Alliance (NHLA), in partnership with the North Carolina Nursery & Landscape Association (NCLA), North Carolina State University and the University of Florida, will be offering a Pesticide Applicators Licensing preparatory course and exam, administered in Spanish, during Green and Growin´ 2017. The three-day course will run Jan. 16-18 in Greensboro, N.C.

The cost for the Pesticide Applicators Licensing prep is $150 for members of the NHLA or NCLA, and $200 for nonmembers. The core exam will incur an additional cost of $50 and $20 for category exams. Study materials will be included in the final cost. Exams will be administered by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.

Class is limited to 100 people and registration is required to attend.

In addition to the three-day prep course, the NHLA will also offer the following Spanish-language sessions as part of the Green & Growin’ educational track:

  • “Increasing Crew and Crew Leader Accountability” on Jan. 17 at 9:30 a.m.;
  • “Creating a Safety Culture” on Jan. 17 at 10:30 a.m.;
  • “Water Pressure – Key to Efficient Irrigation Systems” on Jan. 17 at 1:00 p.m.; and
  • “Buster Pumps and Pressure Regulators – Why, When, Where and How” on Jan. 17 at 2:00 p.m.
