Davey Resource Group (DRG), a division of The Davey Tree Expert Co., promoted Jack McCabe to vice president and general manager of DRG Utility Vegetation Management.

McCabe joined the company in 1999 as a senior consulting utility forester on Davey’s Pacific Gas & Electric Co. account. In 2006 he was promoted to western production manager for DRG, and then again in 2009 to western region operations manager. In 2014 McCabe was named vice president of operations for DRG utility vegetation management.

“Jack has a reputation for exceeding client expectations no matter the conditions,” said Brent Repenning, executive vice president of U.S. Utility and the DRG. “His role as a respected leader, and his aptitude for problem solving have been a vital force in the growth and development of the company’s utility vegetation management services.”

McCabe is a graduate of the University of California-Santa Cruz and holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and urban planning.

The Aspire Software Co. added account manager David Barber to the company and instructional designer Benjamin Strohmeyer to the company.

Barber comes to Aspire with more than 15 years of green industry experience, including ownership of his own landscaping company. Most recently, he was the operations manager for a landscape company in central Ohio. His job responsibilities will include training and supporting Aspire clients in all areas of the software during their deployment, go-live and ongoing use.

Strohmeyer comes to Aspire with 12 years of instructional training and coaching experience. Most recently, he was the senior trainer and content creator for a CRM software company in St. Louis. In addition to his background in training and software, he also comes with experience in writing, English and content creation. His job responsibilities will include writing, creating and administrating both instructor-led and online training for Aspire clients and prospects. These will include software feature videos for Aspire’s website and online learning modules for new Aspire clients and users.

Arborjet added Dave Estey as product marketing manager. In this role, Estey will be responsible for positioning Arborjet’s products in the marketplace, executing strong go-to-market campaigns and managing product life cycles.

“As our dedicated R&D team continues to develop innovative and industry-leading products, we need strong talent to drive our product strategy, and we are confident that Dave will deliver on that front,” said Russ Davis, president and COO of Arborjet. “Dave’s impressive marketing background will serve him well in his new role at Arborjet, and we are pleased to welcome him to our team.”

Prior to his role at Arborjet, Estey worked as director of product for national marketing agency Propel Marketing, now ThriveHive, and was a senior content strategist at C-4 Analytics, a digital marketing services company. He holds a bachelor’s in communications with a minor in writing from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H.
