The Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) joined the Pollinator Partnership, a nonprofit dedicated to the protection and promotion of pollinators and their ecosystems.

As part of its participation in the partnership, PLANET encourages industry support of Pollinator Week, which is celebrated June 16-23. It directs Green Industry professionals to the Pollinator Partnership website for information to share with clients, including logos and a list of events happening across the country.

The initiative began seven years ago as an act of the U.S. Senate. As a partner of it, PLANET participates in the national dialogue about pollinator protection through Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Pollinator Protection Workgroup and as a member of the EPA’s Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC), a federal advisory committee.

“Pollinators are vital to our landscapes and to our environment as a whole,” said Tom Delaney, PLANET director of government affairs. “We encourage industry professionals to use best practices that support the protection of pollinators while caring for all parts of the landscape.”
