Ruppert bolsters staff in Atlanta branch

Ruppert Landscape, based in Laytonsvill, Md., hired Allison Reid, Eric Spangler and Chuck Mauldin to its landscape construction branch in Atlanta. The hires were made to accommodate local growth and at a jobsite in Houston run from the company’s Atlanta branch.

Reid, a resident of Houston, was hired as an assistant project manager to support the Exxon Mobile jobsite. She is a recent graduate of the University of Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture. As assistant project manager, she will be assist operations in all aspects of the administration and installation of large or specialty landscape/hardscape projects for her branch. Her responsibilities include assisting field personnel and managing subcontractors, communicating with customers and project architects and maintaining quality standards for the project.  “Allison’s education and enthusiasm made her a great fit for this project,” said Patrick Luzier, branch manager of Ruppert’s Georgia landscape construction branch. “She is a quick study, has a real can-do attitude and an attention to detail that will enable her to add value in many areas. We are looking forward to many good things from her.

Spangler, a resident of Atlanta, was hired as an estimator. He is a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management. He has experience in the construction industry, interning with Barton Malow for two years. “Eric is a great match for our organization because he’s young, bright and is looking for an organization that will provide him with long-term growth opportunities,” Luzier said. “He has his eye on the position of project manager, and we will be working side-by-side with him to help him achieve his goals.”

Mauldin, a resident of Duluth, Ga., has been hired as a senior estimator. A seasoned professional with 36 years of industry experience, Mauldin has worked in a variety of roles including estimating, sales, preconstruction, project management and design. He holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia and is a registered landscape architect and member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Georgia Chapter of Landscape Architects. He has worked on many notable projects including Turner Field, Avenues Forsyth and Avenues Webb Gin, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (Hollywood, FL). “The addition of Chuck to our team provides us with a wealth of experience in the Atlanta market,” Luzier said. “He is focused and enthusiastic and adds an experience level to our team that is second to none. We are looking forward to many good things from him.”

As estimators, Spangler and Mauldin will be responsible for accurately estimating direct costs for landscape installation bids and change orders based on plans, specifications and site inspections, which includes verifying all material costs, qualifying subcontractor quotations, calculating labor hours, capturing miscellaneous expenses and assigning preliminary margins.
