TaskEasy, an online, on-demand lawn maintenance and snow removal service, is offering five $1,000 scholarships to U.S. students, including three designated for the children of landscape industry members or students that are already members of the landscape industry.

The scholarships will go to students who possess an entrepreneurial spirit and who aspire to change the future, according to the company.

The company is offering two types of scholarships:

  • General Students: Two $1,000 scholarships will go to students enrolled in an accredited university in the U.S. for the 2015-2016 school year.
  • Friends & Family of the Lawn Care Industry: Three $1,000 scholarships will go to children of landscape service providers or students that are already part of the landscape industry and currently enrolled in an accredited university in the U.S. for the 2015-2016 school year.

Applications must be submitted on the company’s website before Dec. 1. Applicants must provide the following information:

  • Name, email and phone number;
  • A current transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable);
  • A 500-word essay answering the question, “Why do you want to be an entrepreneur and how will this scholarship help you reach your goals?” and
  • A landscape industry reference’s name, title, relation to applicant, email and phone number (only required for those applying for the “Friends & Family of the Lawn Care Industry” scholarship).

TaskEasy will announce scholarship recipients by Jan. 15.
