Virginia Green Lawn Care donates to COVID-19 relief fund

|

Virginia Green Lawn Care donated $25,000 to the COVID-19 relief funds of five regional community foundations in each of the markets the company serves: Richmond, Williamsburg, Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and northern Virginia.

Each foundation receives $5,000, but Virginia Green is committed to donating up to another $5,000 through a social media campaign.

“Virginia Green is very thankful to be able to continue to work safely, keep our associates employed and care for our customers’ lawns during the important spring season,” said Gil Grattan, president of Virginia Green Lawn Care. “But because we know this is a challenging time for many, Virginia Green is committed to supporting our communities.”

Virginia Green selected the regional community foundations because they support multiple community organizations and public agencies meeting the needs of individuals and families most affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The funds are designed to be flexible in focus as needs change over time and to complement other resources and responses at the national, state and local levels.

The second part of the donation will be determined through a social media campaign, in which Virginia Green is asking customers, friends and community members to “Share the Love” by creating some type of heart on their lawn, taking a picture and tagging the company and using the hashtags tagging #SharetheLove #VirginiaGreen. For every photo, Virginia Green will donate an additional $10 per picture (up to an additional $5,000).
