EGO unveiled a new line of commercial battery-powered equipment. The line includes a 15-inch string trimmer, 600 CFM blower and 25.5-inch hedge trimmer, all powered by a 56-volt backpack battery.

“Landscapers work in tough conditions. Their tools are exposed to the elements daily, especially rain, dirt and dust,” said Sarah Hohman, brand manager for EGO. “Research confirmed durability factors heavily in the purchase decision. We understand these tools are an investment for hardworking landscapers around the country so we took construction to a new level with the Commercial Series Backpack Battery and earned an IPX56 rating, meaning it can be submerged in water for several minutes without harm.”

EGO’s backpack battery features a run time of up to seven continuous hours, can be completely recharged in about three and a half hours, measures around 80 decibels during use and weighs 20 pounds.

The 15-inch string trimmer features a brushless motor, a carbon fiber shaft and power-load technology. It features five and a half hours of run time, weighs 14.3 pounds and is IPX4 weather rated.

The 600 CFM blower has a four-level power mode selector with boost, variable speed trigger and includes a narrow cone nozzle attachment for specialized airflow control. It provides run times up to five and a half hours, delivers a maximum air velocity of 132 mph, weighs 5.9 pounds and is IPX4 weather rated.

The hedge trimmer has a cut capacity of 1.25 inches with a dual-action double-sided cutting capability. Run time with the backpack battery is up to seven hours. It features a metal cutter guard, a blade tip protector and a serviceable gear box. it weighs 8.5 pounds and is IPX4 weather rated.

All products will be available in April 2019.
