Exmark introduced the 2019 Staris stand-on zero-turn mower and added the 44-inch Radius E-Series model to its Radius line of zero-turn ride-on mowers.

The engine placement, operator position, fuel tanks and tower structure are designed to enhance weight distribution for improved stability and overall performance, Exmark said. The Staris frame is constructed of high-strength tubular steel with the same wall thickness as the Exmark Lazer Z zero-turn riding mower.

Staris is available in E-Series models, with a choice of 32-, 36- and 44-inch UltraCut Series 3 cutting decks, and large-frame S-Series models, with a choice of 48-, 52- or 60-inch UltraCut Series 4 cutting decks. The side-discharge UltraCut cutting decks offer the ability to mulch or bag clippings when equipped with the appropriate Exmark accessories.

Staris offers drive speeds of up to 7.5 mph on E-Series and up to 10 mph on S- Series models. The drive system also uses hard hydraulic lines, reducing potential leak points and improving durability and hydro oil cooling.

Both models position the operator between the drive tires and provide an adjustable suspension system for increased comfort. Additionally, the Staris S-Series is designed with a large open platform and nonslip rubber mat.

Staris S-Series models feature Exmark’s Smart Controller, which features an LCD screen that provides maintenance reminders, on-screen machine health diagnostics, as well as engine and power takeoff hours. Staris S-Series models offer a choice of carbureted Kawasaki or Kohler EFI V-twin power plants.

The 32-inch Staris E-Series model is compact enough to fit through 36-inch gates. It features Kawasaki V-twin commercial engines. All Staris models feature a flip-up front cover, giving operators tool-free access. The rear cover also lifts and locks into place, providing easy access to fill and change engine oil or hydro fluid.

Exmark’s new 44-inch Radius E-Series model joins the existing 48-, 52- and 60-inch Radius E-Series models.

“The compact size of this new Radius model is easier to handle in tighter confines of small or highly landscaped properties,” said Exmark’s product manager, Mike Mayfield. “Its versatility makes the 44-inch Radius E-Series well suited for a wide range of commercial and residential mowing needs.”

Exmark’s most affordable Radius model, the Radius E-Series machine, includes a 5-inch deep UltraCut Series 3 cutting deck. The two- blade UltraCut Series 3 cutting deck features large-diameter, no-maintenance, sealed bearing blade spindle housings.

Radius models feature a heavy-duty unibody frame fabricated from 2- by 3-inch rectangular steel tubing. The frame design places the heaviest components, including the engine, fuel tank and hydro drive system, lower in the frame for increased stability and traction.

Radius models feature an isolated floor pan, which reduces vibration and bumps felt by the operator. The floor pan is also removable, providing easy access to deck drive components.

The mower also integrates hydro-gear transmissions that deliver smooth control with forward speeds of up to 7 mph. Exmark’s 702 V-Twin engine powers the machine.

Additional features include:

  • A dual-barrel carburetor;
  • Cast-iron cylinder liners;
  • A quick-drain oil hose for tools-free oil changes;
  • A digital hour meter;
  • A window-style fuel gauge;
  • A 12-volt power port for charging electronics;
  • An integrated hitch; and
  • A roll-over protection system featuring a rear-facing angle.
