Insects can inflict costly damage on high-value trees, shrubs, and ornamentals. Zylam® Liquid Systemic Insecticide controls these pests. Zylam controls more than 100 listed chewing and sucking insects, including scale, Emerald ash borers, leaf hoppers, bagworms, mealybugs, Japanese beetles, and aphids.
The only liquid dinotefuran formulation available for the professional landscape market, Zylam is highly water-soluble, allowing for rapid plant uptake and translocation of the product for fast insect control. Insects are affected both on contact and through ingestion of treated plant tissue – insect death can occur as quickly as 30 minutes.
Zylam offers excellent residual control, and can be used in a variety of application methods including soil drench or injection, bark banding, or foliar spray, depending upon the target insect, plant species, and application timing.
In addition to the 100+ insects Zylam is labeled to control, entomologists at Pennsylvania State Extension concluded that Zylam provided excellent control of a dangerous new invasive pest: the Spotted Lanternfly.
Earlier this year, PBI-Gordon issued 2(ee) recommendations for using Zylam to control Spotted Lanternfly in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia. In addition, a 24(c) Special Local Need Labeling has been issued for use in the state of New York for control of Spotted Lanternfly on Tree-of-Heaven, an invasive tree species that is a preferred host of the Spotted Lanternfly.
