People on the Move: Haviland Enterprises appoints new vp of finance; LandCare hires, promotes 2 branch managers

Haviland Enterprises appointed Meg Post as the company’s vice president of finance. Post assumes the role previously held by Terry Schoen, who announced plans to retire earlier this year.

Post reports to CEO and President Mike Karasiewicz and will oversee the company’s financial operations, including accounting and reporting, financial planning and business analysis, IT and risk management. She will be a member of the Haviland Business Development Team and lead the financial analysis and modeling for mergers and acquisitions.

“Meg Post brings a wealth of financial expertise to our business. She will be instrumental in helping us develop strategic plans and growth objectives as a key leader on the Haviland Senior Management Team,” Karasiewicz said.

Post joins Haviland following 11 years with Adamy Valuation, most recently directing the valuation advisory services for private and public companies, business owners, executives, trustees and attorneys. She provided leadership on valuation projects involving mergers and acquisitions, employee stock ownership plans, succession planning, financial reporting and corporate strategic planning.

She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University.

LandCare hired Craig Sperber as branch manager in its Canoga Park, Calif., location.

Sperber has more than 30 years of experience in the landscape industry, having held positions in project, operational and account management roles.

“Craig is a highly experienced industry veteran who aligns with our Core Values,” said Don Cully, Los Angeles regional vice president. “His background gives him credibility with our team, and we’re all excited to see him advance the strong culture built in Canoga Park.”

In other LandCare news, the company promoted Luke Dodge to branch manager in its Summerlin, Nev., location. He joined LandCare in June of 2017 as a production manager in Las Vegas.

Dodge has an extensive operational background in sports turf management, with nine years of experience caring for the fields of two Premiere League soccer teams while earning his degree in sports turf science in his native country of England. Before joining LandCare, he facilitated the course maintenance of six PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour golf tournaments across the U.S.

“I get the most enjoyment in delivering a great product for our clients and witnessing their delight in what we have achieved,” Dodge said. “My primary goal in this new position is to produce a close, family culture at the branch so we can take pride in our work together.”
