In a typical year, the winter months are a good time to plan a family getaway to Orlando, Fla., to visit Walt Disney World. Disney World’s Animal Kingdom was a brand-new attraction in 1998, when LM featured an in-depth look at how landscape architects, landscape designers and other Disney Imagineering team members worked together to realize the vision for the 500-acre park. At the time, a team of 52 landscape maintenance workers oversaw the approximately 4 million plants installed on-site.
