Gempler’s unveils Grass Shield

Gempler'sGempler’s introduced Grass Shield, a colorless silicone coating that leaves a thin, slippery layer when applied to metal.

It can be sprayed, brushed or swabbed onto mower decks or blades to prevent freshly cut grass from sticking, according to the company. The product can also provide protection against rust and corrosion for when a mower is placed into storage.

“Our motto at Gempler’s is ‘making hard work easy,'” said Brian Bruhn, product category manager for landscape and nursery at Gempler’s. “To that end, we’re always looking to develop new products that help our customers save time and make more money. When it comes to lawn maintenance, Grass Shield does just that.”

A 1-gallon bottle of Grass Shield can coat a 48-inch deck more than 60 times, each coat lasting for 10-20 hours of use, depending on mowing conditions, Gempler’s said. For best results, the product should be allowed to dry for 30 minutes.
