Husqvarna launches new forestry, tree care chainsaws

Husqvarna launched a line of chainsaws including two new 70cc saws, two redesigned 50cc saws, a gas-powered tree care saw, some new equipment essentials and expanded its line of X-Cut chainsaw chains. Husqvarna launches the new product line in North America as it celebrates its 60th chainsaw anniversary in 2019.

“We are not just launching new saws — we are launching an entirely new generation of chainsaws which are the culmination of 60 years of innovation in technology and engineering to provide forestry and tree care professionals with the best saws to cut more, better and longer,” said Earl Bennett, president of Husqvarna Brand Division North America. “We are redefining the 50cc and 70cc segments by setting a new standard for performance, durability and maneuverability.”

The T525 is designed to be the Husqvarna’s lightest gas-powered tree care saw for full-time professional use, the company said. It includes a low-emission X-Torq engine. This new 27cc saw features a quick release air filter cover that saves time when cleaning or changing the saw’s spark plug or filter.

In the 70cc class, Husqvarna launches the 572XP and 565. The 572XP delivers a 12 percent higher cutting capacity over similarly sized Husqvarna saws. The new engine design offers a wide usable RPM and the new cooling capacity provides a longer engine life. Weighing 14.5 pounds and equipped with a powerful 5.8 horsepower engine, the 572XP has a better power-to-weight ratio than any other comparable Husqvarna saw. The second saw in the 70cc class launched is the 565. It has AutoTune, air injection and offers low vibration. The air injection system filters out 98 percent of incoming dust for less wear on the engine.

The redesign of the new 550XP Mark II and 545 Mark II chainsaws have a 13 percent higher cooling capacity compared to the previous generation of 50cc chainsaws from Husqvarna. The 550 XP Mark II was designed for demanding use in felling, limbing and bucking operations. The saw has a slimmed-down design with the capacity for handling small and mid-sized trees. The 545 Mark II is designed for forestry and tree care professionals looking for endurance in their daily use, according to the company. It has more power over a wider RPM range compared to the previous Husqvarna model.

The company also launched a new line of arborist helmets and equipment essentials, designed for the professional arborist. This assortment of line setting, climbing and positioning equipment can be found at local Husqvarna dealers. The helmets come as Class C or Class E variations, depending on if the user is working near power lines, and three different visor versions: clear, mirror and smoke. Both helmets meet ANSI and CSA requirements.

Husqvarna also expanded its line of X-Cut chainsaw chains. Designed with tree care professionals in mind, X-Cut chains were designed, developed and manufactured in Sweden. In addition to the already available X-Cut SP33G low-vibration pixel chain, Husqvarna has released the new X-Cut C83 (.050 gauge) and C85 (.058 gauge) models, adding full chisel 3/8-inch pitch chains for professional use to the series. The new X-Cut S93G (.050 gauge) expands the series by introducing a semi chisel 3/8-inch mini chain designed for professional top-handle and lower cc saws.
