McKay Landscape Lighting hosted the 7th annual Lighting Summit on Jan. 15- 16 at the Marriott Hotel located in the Capitol District of downtown Omaha, Neb.

On Jan. 15, Jerry McKay shared McKay Landscape Lighting’s highlights from the year and then the McKay team discussed a new marketing campaign, customer relations and email marketing. Guest speaker Kyle Salem, chief of staff and president of Cassling, discussed strategic planning, different methods, how to develop a plan of action to reach your future goals and more.

The afternoon included a tour of McKay Landscape Lighting’s facility with small group sessions. Dinner was hosted at Jerry McKay’s home followed by a nighttime walk-through of a few landscape lighting designs McKay Lighting recently installed.

The morning of Jan. 16 included interactive discussions lead by McKay. Bill Knowles, Northern Outdoor Lighting LLC; Kyle Adamson, Red Oak Outdoor Lighting; Jesse Wisley, Mid-South Night Lights; Anthony Bogdanovich, California Outdoor Lighting; and Andrew Coleman, McKay Landscape Lighting presented innovative designs and installs.

After lunch attendees shared different topics including cold calling, audio, lighting opportunities, the elements of design and how to take high-quality photography using an iPhone. The final session for the day included in depth round table discussions where attendees could brainstorm solutions and come up with ideas as a group. The conference concluded with a final wrap up where everyone shared their top takeaways from the two days.

Following the conference, the second day included an optional cocktail hour at Zipline Brewery followed by dinner at The Old Mattress Factory.
