The Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) is seeking industry members to help improve its Glossary of Terms.

Since the Glossary’s launch in 2015, SIMA has engaged snow contractors, property managers, suppliers and legal and insurance experts in its continual review process to ensure the terms included best reflect the current industry environment.

SIMA will conduct another review this summer and is looking for industry members’ feedback. SIMA is asking all interested industry members to email ellen@sima.org with thoughts and comments.

The result of the yearly SIMA Standards Think Tank, the Standard Glossary of Terms is a document defining industry terms and providing tools for RFPs and contracts. It features more than 100 terms and was edited by a paid legal reviewer and professionals across the industry. In 2016, the association completed its first quarterly review of its Glossary of terms, adding and modifying six terms.
